Volunteer Co-ordinator Role

Role Title: Bucks RFU CB Volunteer Co-ordinator


Role Purpose:

Lead on all volunteering related matters for the CB, including the promotion of

CB, RFU or external volunteering awards with clubs and collation of nominations for

submission.


Being a member of the County Executive committee and attending meetings either electronically or face to face.


Working relationships:

Chair and the Executive Committee Bucks RFU, along with all Club volunteer leads within Buckinghamshire, other local County Volunteers leads and outside agencies as needed.


Main tasks and responsibilities:

  • Promotion of good practice in volunteer management

  • Maintain a County wide club volunteer coordinator register.

  • Promote the Club Volunteer Co-ordinator (CVC) role and host volunteer

  • forums and workshops, with the support of Bucks RFU.

  • Identify and share good practice in volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition e.g., via the CB website, newsletters, social media etc.

  • Signpost clubs to useful online resources.


Volunteer recognition and reward

As the main contact with the RFU’s Volunteer Engagement Manager, promote both CB & RFU volunteer recognition programmes and be involved in their administration


Communications with stakeholders

  • Regular liaison with club’s VCs to increase your understanding of volunteer

  • achievements and issues.

  • Promotion of the CB leadership academy

  • Interested in volunteer management/development matters


Skill set

  • Well-organised and accurate, with some IT and administration skills

  • Well-connected to clubs or willing to develop relationships

  • Pro-active, confident, and good at communicating

  • Understanding of, and commitment to equal opportunities and managing diversity
