2025 is going to be a big year for women’s rugby with a home Rugby World cup being the massive showcase Event.
It is also going to be a big year for women’s rugby in Buckinghamshire as we look to harness the positive vibes around this event, our aim is to have more women playing more rugby.
In addition to our extremely successful women’s county squad, for 1 season only, we are looking at putting together a President’s World Cup women's XV
The president’s world cup XV will be open to ALL women who are playing at NC1 and below and who meet any of the following criteria –
Play for a team in Buckinghamshire
Born in Buckinghamshire
Lives in Buckinghamshire
Are being educated in Buckinghamshire
There will be open training sessions on (timings to be confirmed closer to the time)
17/01/2025
21/02/2025
We invite all eligible players to come along and get involved. These should be great training sessions.
The coaches will then look to select a squad of about 30 players (who have attended) to take forward. We are right now trying to arrange 2 full fixtures against similar opposition.
We want this to be fun, competitive but more importantly an enjoyable experience for all involved. We will measure its success by the number of people who put their "hands up" along with the number of different clubs we have involved
Keep your eye out for lots more detail and how to sign up on social media!
A google form will be shared soon for players to register their interest.
On behalf of the County President,
Chris McCombie
