Job Title: Bucks RFU Honorary Treasurer
Bucks RFU are looking to recruit a new Honorary Treasurer, the appointment will commence in June 2025.
This position sits on the County Executive committee as an Officer of Buckinghamshire RFU.
The applicant should have some form of accountancy/booking keeping background. The Individual will be part of a small team that has financial reporting responsibilities to the Conty executive committee and our member clubs, for any funding that forms part of the County financial position.
The current incumbent will work alongside the successful applicant until they are confident within the role to ensure a seamless transition.
Principal Responsibilities:
Capturing and categorising all financial transactions of Bucks RFU on an accurate and timely basis.
Maintaining financial records and primary documentation to support audits and other statutory compliance requirements.
Processing all disbursements from Bucks RFU bank accounts, ensuring proper authorisation of same
Managing Bucks RFU banking relationships.
Raising VAT invoices as required for, inter alia, Sponsors and Bucks clubs.
Maintaining the appropriate detail to ensure that the bridging software supports accurate quarterly VAT returns.
Managing and monitoring loans provided by Bucks RFU against their contractual terms and conditions
Provide financial status reports to the Bucks RFU Executive Committee.
Reporting on financial matters to the Bucks RFU AGM and/or EGM/SGM.
Preparation of the Bucks RFU annual accounts and liaison / coordination with the Reporting Accountant including on the annual Corporation Tax return.
For transparency, it is anticipated that this role would require about 2/3hrs a week, plus an additional 4/6 online meetings during the rugby season.
